Riding Lessons at Harmony Stables
PLEASE NOTE: All of our lesson program spots are currently FULL. We have limited spots available for those with their own horses. However, we offer Horse Camps year-round for both Kids and Adults.
Private Lessons – $50/lesson (45-60 min lesson) with Lesson Horse
Come join us for beginner riding lessons! Students receive private instruction, which starts with basic ground work and safety skills around the horse, while focusing on Principles of Horsemanship. Riding instruction begins on the lunge line (a long lead rope where the instructor is holding the horse), focusing on rhythm and communication skills with the horse. Each week students build on what they have learned, gaining confidence and knowledge. Most lessons are taught in the English saddle and students will also ride bareback or in the Western saddle. Lessons include leading, grooming, tacking up, riding and practicing safety around a horse. We welcome riders age 7 through adult. For more information on our Lesson Program, please Click Here.
Group Lessons – $40/lesson (45 minute lesson) with Lesson Horse
Once the rider has gained their balance and developed an independent seat, the rider will graduate into Semi-Private or Group lessons. Lessons focus on added strength and balance, steering the horse, controlling speed of the horse, riding independently and grooming and tacking up independently. Once the rider can walk, trot and canter on their own, rider is then guided into more advanced riding skills, i.e jumping, speed events, etc.
Specialty Training
Throughout the year, Harmony Stables offers specialty training/riding clinics. We offer clinics in Barrel Racing, Reining, Natural Horsemanship and Hunter/Jumper and Equine Learning Activities. To be added to our mailing list for upcoming events, please click here Mailing List.
A Solid Foundation is Key
At Harmony Stables, we believe every rider should start with a good foundation of basic skills and knowledge and have plenty of experience and confidence at one level before trying to move to the next. We will continue to move students forward with skills and knowledge and work with exercises that will enhance both. We want your time to be fun and educational. Please don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions…we look forward to enjoying this experience with you.
